I would like to wish the readers, loyal visitors, and subscribers of Beyond Behaviors a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year. As I look back on this past year, I have so much to be thankful for.

First, I am thankful for my wife, Miwa, who loves & supports me unconditionally. She makes me want to be a better husband and a better human being. Second, I am grateful for my family who loves me. And though they still don’t know what I do for a living, they always want me to be happy. Third, I would be remiss if I didn’t thank my friends and former colleagues in Saipan (Becky Flores, Patty Mendoza, LJ Tenorio-Fejeran, Percy Torres, Thelma Cing, and Erica Sonoda Thornburgh) for their friendships, their dedication, and their desire to serve the needs of children.

Finally, my wish for the Beyond Behaviors readers/subscribers is to find that little joy during times of sorrows, to be that little light when there’s darkness, to rise above the system of mediocrity and strive to be your best, and above all to always believe that:

“You Will Because You Can.”
Follow Your Heart. Believe in Yourself. Transform Your Life.

Warmly yours,

Steve Nguyen

I second Sham… “You will because you can” Very powerful in its sheer poignancy and simplicity. I like it very much.

Shamelle: Thanks for that nice comment. By the way, I really like this quote on your blog: “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” - Albert Einstein

Bamboo: Thanks again for the kind words. “You Will Because You Can” came from a framed artwork that a friend gave me on my birthday (Fall 2007). It has a woman reaching for a star with the caption, “You Will Because You Can.” And it’s something that I still treasure to this day. You can read more about that period in my life here, How I Transformed My Life in 5 Steps - Part 5.

Wow! I am touched by your mention (was that truly my name I saw?) and fond reflections of our core cluster group. It is with warm affections when I reflect back on our first meeting with you in the steering committee…joining us a muck in the “ripe saipan soil.” It has also been with great joy to see your happiness grow and changes you have made in your life with the coming together of you and Miwa. Just look where you are and of all that (awesome) is in front of you. I’ll be able to say, I knew those two back in the days on Saipan… PS This is my first blog comment ever. I guess not so scary afterall (teehee)

Patty: Welcome and thanks for posting your first ever comment here! See, it’s not painful or scary. One of the things I deeply, deeply miss is the synergy and collaboration we shared on Saipan. It was a natural high whenever I was around you and Becky. Thoughts just seem to gel together and no matter what the challenge, we always seemed to come up with a solution. I really miss that camaraderie and teamwork. It never felt like work, but always felt like fun to me. Maybe that’s why it just felt so natural when we came together on a project. I hope you’ll visit often and share your comments.
