It’s been one year, 10 months, and 10 days since I first launched an unknown (now defunct) blog called, Steve Nguyen Online. Astute observers will notice that Beyond Behaviors currently uses the same beautiful sunset photo that the original site used. Today, I’m pleased to share with our readers a cosmetic enhancement to Beyond Behaviors‘ looks. One of my blogging goals for 2008 was to improve my blog design. I believe that this refreshening brings a much needed and more professional look and feel to the site.
Another goal for this blog was to increase the number of comments received. Within the past two weeks, I’ve noticed a steady increase in visitors as well as their participation through comments. Thank you to each one of you. Please keep them coming!
Finally, I’ve been trying to post more comments on other bloggers’ sites and find it very rewarding. Now, I see what the top bloggers meant by interacting with readers. It’s like a whole other world down there in the comments section! Amazing that this is an area that I’ve overlooked for so long. Bloggers like Leo of Zen Habits, Tina of ThinkSimpleNow, and Skellie of Skelliewag are great at continuing the conversations in their comment sections.
Update [12.30.07] - I am aware that for users of the Internet Explorer (IE) or Opera browsers (for all versions), this site will not look right and may seem untidy or “broken.” Please consider using one of these browsers for a better viewing experience: Firefox (PC & Mac), Safari (PC & Mac), Camino (Mac only), or OmniWeb (Mac only).

Thanks Bamboo for that compliment and for your contributions. I never realized just how much time blogging requires. I guess I better enjoy this time off from work because come next Wednesday, it’s back to work for me.

Lookin’ good, Steve. I know what you mean about comments. I’ve recently increased the amount of comments that I post on other blogs, and it’s lead to some good relationships with other bloggers. As an added bonus, many bloggers will return the favor by posting on your own blog.

Two years ago, if someone were to tell me that I could develop and maintain relationships with people who leave comments on my blog I would have thought that they were crazy. Today, I’m a true believer in the power of connections, networks, and relationships. Thanks again for your insights Adam.

Hahaha.. I’m so happy to be back home where I have no cable.
My brain still feels numb from the holidays.
Love the new look: very clean and professional.
You’re gonna have a fantastic year, especially with your blogging ventures.. I can feel it.
